Announcement   Announcement : ChaosLord dies in his final battle...
posted by Hypex on 9-Jul-2016 16:40:10 (6043 reads)
Hello everyone. I have some sad news to share.

I found out a few days ago that a friend I met online, James Conwell, passed away on July 1st.

James went by the handle ChaosLord and is credited for being best known for his TotalChaos game on the Amiga and his creation of the JC programming language, James C, that was his own macro set to make C easier to work with.

James suffered from the condition of RSD for eight years and in that time still worked hard with his team on his TotalChaos game with a view to expanding it to other computer platforms.

Well, James, you no longer have to deal with your own chaos within. I thank you for being part of the Amiga community and for becoming part of my life.

R.I.P.

I honored this skilled developer by playing his great game (and I won one round!).

sad news.

Total Chaos is a great game, hope hes project doesnt die with him too, so he can live on through the game which was his more or less, lifetime project.

I personally still favor the, i think it was, 0.7 version from playing point of view, unfortunately it was still missing too much compared to later versions.

Was hoping he would still be able to beat the odds for longer, I think he mentioned in one topic that he was supposed to have died already according to doctors, but he still kept going on.

Terrible news indeed, I have seen his posts on here many times over the years and did message him a few times in the past about his game.

Rest in peace!

Spud.

Sad news indeed.

Farewell Chaos Amigan. Now you will meet a Lord superior to us all...

As I said over at amiga.org: He was a cool dude that loved to help amigans and loved to constantly fiddle with TotalChaosAGA even when he couldn't sit still at a computer to type due to his illness...RIP & may you code on all the Amigas you want to in paradise friend

Horrible news. :( RSD is a nasty thing to suffer from. Condolences to his family and may he rest in peace.

In addition to Coder, he was the other one of the earliest foreign Amiga users, I had lots of discussions with via email (after I got my first modem), and now they're both gone...
