Announcement   Announcement : AmiCloud (beta) for AmigaOS
posted by phoenixkonsole on 12-Oct-2015 14:53:14 (3030 reads)

AmiCloud beta is available in the indieGO! AppStore for 500indieCoins.
The beta includes acces to your user-bound cloud storage (1gb during beta).
You can sync files inside a folder of your choice. You are free, if you bought once, to install it on as many os4 machines as you like.
You can also share your files individually via a public link with the world.

Important note:
Please read the readme. Especially if you wan't to close the log-window
Please report any bug asap. For now I will grant only a limited number of users access. As soon the limit has been reached it will not be available anymore from the store until end of beta.

Every lucky person being part of beta users will get a bonus after it. Double space than non beta users.

We have tested it (it is beta3 already) and with luck it will just work as it should.(so far we have got no negative Report, so we will release the next Version for other platforms soon).

Because some people struggle to understand the App Store here is a short how to buy it : )

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=T6KYV__JJZ4

Important to understand is that the downloads are not downloaded inside the App Store client but in an extra app called DLM (download manager)
This app "should" start after logIN. If it doesn't start, than run the dlm app manually.

When you click "download" inside the App Store client, it will change to "downloading". Than check the DLM. Your downloads will be added to the queue.

During download you can click inside the App Store on close and check other apps.

If you close the App Store it will ask if the DLM should stay open or if it should be closed as well.

Nice

Is it compatible with any other cloud service, to make sharing with (non-Amiga) friends possible? I'm thinking for example DropBox or OneDrive.

Hi,
We don't support any other service but we will offer soon sharing with a team.
So you can have files shared only with choosen users.
Also working on same files will be handled but as SAP does.
So if a teammember opens a file it will be blocked for others (editing).

It will be available for Windows, Linux, OS X also.

The article would be even better if it included a link to download IndieGO! as I can't seem to find it anywhere (used my favorite search engine for 10 minutes, but nothing).

@Retro
why not, as Long we get also new Content : )
Maybe I put the indieGO!-Client into the Amistore for download...

Edit:
Stupid me : ) I could just have edited my last post. I Need coffee

Edit2:
Due to some requests we will release as next build the Windows Version.
This will allow to share/synch both Systems.
1-2 days.

Edit3:
Unlike amistore, you can't pay directly with PayPal
We are using indiecoins which can be bought on www.ares-shop.de

In a couple of weeks we will have a Website where you can buy those via PayPal and other payment methods.

Great : )
I will Test a new Windows Build I've got today from Fabio. A realease should happen within the next 2 days. When the beta ends every tester will get twice the space that normal users will get. Also in the later future.

@phoenixkonsole

Would it be possible to setup my own AmiCloud server? For testing, or for faster LAN access or whatever?

Nope : ) Sorry. AmiCloud is not just the Client but also a API running on a Server. One without the other will not work.
