The CDs were shiped months ago. You should contact your dealer
to ask why you haven't received it yet. You may also need to
buy a ROM update to actually use the prerelease.

Kind regards,

Dennis

Why would he have to buy a rom update? The board comes with a rom to use AmigaOS4, which hasn't been released officially. I wouldn't think that any extra purchase is necessary to use what has already been paid for but not recieved.

@Herewegoagain

Guess what A3000T wants to say is: if you have a ROM that is not flashable then you have to get a new one cause the OS needs an updated U-Boot to work

Mario

Right, I understood that... But I don't think anyone would have to buy the replacement ROM. If the board doesn't have the proper ROM to run OS4, then it should be replaced under warranty, as these people have never had OS4 to run on their machines, and not their fault that the ROMS were not flashable. That's what I was getting at. If I spent that much on a board to run an OS and then was told "oh, by the way, you have to buy a ROM update to actually use it", then I would be asking for a refund... Seriously. It would be different if OS4 had already been released and initially worked, but needed a new ROM for the next updated release. Anyway, let's not make more of this than what it is... I'm hoping that was only speculation, and that people are not being charged to replace those earlier ROMS.

@ all who haven't recieved their CD

I don't know who you should be contacting, but maybe give Eyetech an email.

I had to pay 15 euros for a flashable ROM.

all who haven't recieved their CD

If their internet isn't slow why not just let them get a copy from a friend or someone here in the meanwhile? I think someone should help them out, even if someone might consider it piracy..

@amigamagia

The problem is that this the Pre-developer is not the final, if one where give then pirate copy, if they where given a pirate copy then they will have same problem whit the final copy, so the best way is to take up whit the dealer, and AmigaOS40 comes whit a serial number that you most register on Hyperion site to get updates, and I for one will not
provide that serial number.

@NutsAboutAmiga

You don't need the serial to run OS4pre.
If I am correct OS4pre only runs on the right Uboot firmware, so why people are so worried about "pirate" copies is beyond me. If I am correct everyone with an A1 is entitled to OS4.

But you are right they still have to sort out the serial with their dealer.

Only early bird offer participants are entitled to a free (as in beer) copy. Not everyone is an early bird offer participant. Everybody who buys an Amiga now gets a copy of OS4 of course but we're talking about older machines.

P.S. No, I haven't received my copy from LiveWire either.

@Framiga

He is correct. If you didn't buy an earlybird (then you must have bought an even earlier "bird", but ok) then you are not entitled to a free copy of OS4-pre.

@Framiga

If you bought your A1 board during the time of the "developer discounts", then you don't get the pre-release CD and must purchase it directly from hyperion or Eyetech. Meaning, if you got the 10% off WAY back in the day, you don't get the pre-release(Even if you upgraded later to a G4 like I did). Contact Eyetech or Hyperion if you are in this catagory. This happened to me, so I know it had to be done.

Why, I guess congratulations are in place!

I know you'll enjoy it, I just hope you've got a few days/weeks of vacation left to waste tinkering with it.

Mine arrived today, too! I am now officially a Happy Girl (tm). I might install it tonight, although I might also wait for the weekend.
