If your ISP gives you a dynamic IP address, then odds are its not you, and you have been assigned an IP thats was banned in the past.
Just turn off your dsl/cable modem for a bit (like overnight) and turn back on. you will be assigned a different IP address and all will be well.
This is of course assuming you didnt post how AtariST's were better back in the day _________________

| @AmigaOneProductions Probably you are in the same range of IP addresses as someone who *has* upset/spammed Amiga.org. _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue... |

They are having a multitude of issues. I wouldn't be concerned. Karlos has been trying to address the errors.

Atari STs WERE better, they were heavier and made much better doorstops _________________ Glass coffins, a success? Remains to be seen. |

I think you were unlucky enough to be assigned an IP address that falls into a presently excluded range. It happens from time to time. Try using a proxy; failing all else there is the one listed in my signature (which is intended for use with old amiga browsers). _________________ Doing stupid things for fun... |

Now you know to have more than one account name is a breach of the terms and conditions of the forum, so I cannot be Franko _________________ Glass coffins, a success? Remains to be seen. |

You don't need to change any settings to use a web based proxy, you just enter the URL you want to visit. _________________ Doing stupid things for fun... |

| @Karlos Good point, if it's a web based proxy I just tried your proxy link, I get the same problem, I'm still banned

Which browser/os did you use? You'll get 301 redirected to the site proper if you try to use something which isn't an amiga browser (which is the point of said proxy). There are loads of free online proxies you could use which don't quite have that behaviour. _________________ Doing stupid things for fun... |

I am on a Win 7 laptop right now, also have an iPad and a SAM440EP, but as I said, I am not going to waste my time trying different proxies, machines, OS's etc just to get access, it's not really my problem is it _________________ Glass coffins, a success? Remains to be seen. |

I tried your suggestion, that lets me in and log on, but as soon as I go into another section, it says I am not logged in again, so I can't post anything, I was going to post something in the bugs section to say I was having probs, but it wont let me.
Anyone know if there an email address for whose ass I need to kick _________________ Glass coffins, a success? Remains to be seen. |

| @Derfs This is something i dont get.. Why do people still permanently ban ips that are dynamic? I have seen sites that can keep their bans for years even though the user who were banned dosent even use the same isp anymore. All it does is make life hard for the rest of us who might get one of the banned ips in future. |

It could be you're on the same ISP as me, as Wayne Hunt has banned my ISP too from even viewing Amiga.Org....
Wayne may think that by banning certain ISPs that this stops someone from even viewing the site but for being such an alleged web expert he fails to realise there are ways around it.
I may be new to the web but in less than an hour I had logged into my new account and posted a new thread before he found it and deleted it.
Dunno who this guy thinks he is but one things for sure this petty fool has got a war on his hands now, he's got lots of his own little sites that I can have fun with over the coming weeks, months & years... Last edited by Franko on 05-Jul-2011 at 11:30 AM.
