Nothing because I bough both CDs and only changes the OS 3.9 with 3.5 in singles things in OS if you are truely interested I shall can send you or put the differences but this work I'll have this weekend.

The stuff that matter:

OS3.5 came in a professional big box package with nice jewel case design, but html help guides are on the disc which need splitting (see Aminet) before use because the files are too big for AWeb to load quickly! Quite stable and I use it for 'Napalm' 2-player nullmodem games as it seems to work more stably!

OS3.9 comes as just a jewel case with 'Get Boinged' on it - Not so professional packaging! My solution is to store both jewel case in the OS3.5 box! The AmiDock and built in 'Unpacker' are worth the upgrade on their own! There was initially a bug in OS3.9 whereby it doesn't automatically show updates when files are copied/deleted (OS4.1 has the same problem), this is fixed with the 'Boing Bag' updates.

Is that really a bug, or just a leftover "feature" from previous versions? I agree, the packaging wasn't as nice for 3.9, but there was also less money around then so corners were cut. Along with the dock and unpacker, another important reason to upgrade to 3.9 (with the BoingBags) is the native, official support of hard drives bigger than 4GB. I know a lot of the improvements can be added with patches and utilities from Aminet, but it's nice to have them all in the one place, in a combination that has been formally tested and approved.

The Desktop pictures seemed to be better on OS3.5 too. OS3.9 was a more complete package especially after the boing bags. From the website provided by 'utri007' they only sold 6000 copies of OS3.9 compared to 12000 for OS3.5! That's a stark picture of the disintegration of the Amiga market if ever I saw one!!!

OS3.9 had asynchronous Workbench - after a Boing Bag update anyway. That's a big step forward.

I've been told that 3.9 is more stable and faster than 3.5 but I don't know if that's true because I never really used 3.5. (But one nice thing about 3.5 is that you can install 3.1 from CDRom, which is quite handy.)
