Hello Amigans!

Once I owned an A500 and very beautiful A1200 but they are long gone. I hope they made somebody else very happy too.

I was lured away by fast 3D and endless configuration problems and have since traveled long dusty roads through Windows, Linux and OS X along the way.

I've been feeling really dissatisfied with my computing experience. The walled gardens, sterile bland OSs, the whole scene.

My second RPi is going to run Amibian and I'm looking longingly at those x5000s...

@klx300r @metalmac

Cheers! Its awesome to see an Amiga community still ticking. I feel kinda guilty for not caring more before.

I managed to skulk around a bit at the Amiga 30th Birthday Party event at the (awesome) Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California... but I heard about it very late and didn't have a legit ticket

I'm also a programmer and the pull is STRONG.

@remotenemesis

no worries my friend, I felt the same way in 08 when I 'came back' & found out the community never really left..we still help each other out today like we did back in the 80's the only difference is now it's worldwide rather than a local Amiga club yes we're much smaller than before and we need more developers and that's where you being a programmer is a God send because we need you !

Any way you can help out will be so much appreciated and you can make a difference one small step at a time so dig in, ask questions & get acquainted with our favourite OS again

@remotenemesis

At first I thought the title was "An Amiga returns" and I imagined an Amiga you sold off that got lost in the wilderness or on some desert island with only ten games but finally returned back to you. Because every true Amiga always comes back to it's faithful owner. I can see where that is unlikely. And instead you brought yourself back. Welcome back brother.

Running a simple A1200 setup here. A couple of local friends with the same configuration are slowly becoming a demo group. Amiga's Power!
