@Hans

hi hans i really like to know where i could pick one up for £50, when I last asked about this perhaps a year ago all I could was products £600+. A make, model, a webpage would be very beneficial as these devices are clearly not easy to find online. I can think of at least one other (djnick) who would be interested in such a device - at £50 this is clearly more affordable.

I think he's referring to the post #33. If the X1000 First Contact owners were promised to get OS4.2 for free, naturally they would feel pissed if they have to pay for updates to OS4.1 - even if it's only 30€...

We could start a hairsplitting war right now, but there you go...

It was and is AmigaOS4.2 that will be free for X1000 customers, but...where did it ever say that all the updates to AmigaOS4.1 would also be free?

I'm an X1000 customer and i don't have the slightest problem paying for the AmigaOS4.1 Final and for all the following updates too (excluding 4.2)...i like that much better than having to pay a monthly fee or any other payment model that has been discussed...

I'm glad development constinues and will support it

here's one

Looks like the same model as I found on ebay.

There a slight fiddlyness about ensuring the usb stick you save to is in perfect condition filesystem wise, it must be correctly ejected from the "PC". I run fsck on it in linux before caling "eject" to make sure it in perfect condition, overwise it records an empty file. Other wise it works well, the only restriction being that you can't change screen modes half way through a demo.

I saw a picture of X5000 in white+red tower case with boing logo. Is this a custom case or can it be bought separatelly (without the boing of course)?

Dunno why, but this case just said "Amiga" to me the moment I saw it ;) Was it fully built from scratch or was it based on some existing case?

@eliyahu

Do you know the name/manufacturer of the existing case used as base?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crazyprofit-Capture-footage-Supports-required/dp/B00MYRGJ84/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1414670956&sr=8-1&keywords=hdmi+video+capture

So...

1. VGA cable as normal to TV from graphics card.
2. On same graphics card plug HDMI cable at one end into Input Source on this device.
3. Record footage by plugging USB stick into USB Host socket into the device. On Amiga ensure USB has stopped flashing before removing and the right click on icon to Eject.
4.When ready to start recording press Red record button on device

Optionally add Audio by simply running into the 1/2 jack mic socket.

I think that's correct, yes Andy?

@djrikki

According to the documents, the device only records analog audio with analog video.
When using HDMI, it only records the HDMI audio, which is not currently supported by OS4.

@lylehaze

There appear to be cables on the market which combine DVI video and separate audio into HDMI.

"When using HDMI, it only records the HDMI audio, which is not currently supported by OS4."

You've just made this more confusing, I assume you mean when using HDMI it records the video and if I want audio I will need to do this via an external mixer/mic of other similar external input.

Radeon 4650 has 2 outputs only, VGA and HDMI. Are you saying that I would have to switch the monitor to HDMI and bring the VGA instead into the device?

@ssolie or @amigakit

Was there any mention at AmiWest about the status of the driver for the X1000's built-in network hardware ? Last there was any mention of it there was an in-house beta version Trevor apparently was using.

@BCP

I guess it's with all the stuff that is being worked on...no news until real news.
I'm pretty sure it's still on the to-do list

At least i can't wait to use it once it's done

@BCP

It works pretty well for the majority but there are a few stubborn bugs which are taking a lot of time to track down. Of course it works 100% in the Linux driver, so the AOS driver is being debugged step by step.
