Latest update from Zach Weddington on the VIVA AMIGA documentary...

Quote:
Project Update #22: Footage test
Posted by Zach Weddington

Hey everyone
Now that the story is taken care of, we can focus on getting "B-roll". Artful and cool footage that we will use to illustrate the story, along with archival stuff and the animations I am making.

My old boss, Dave Stiles, who works in television, came over last weekend and we did some shots with a motorized dolly system and a Nikon D7000.

Looks pretty cool, I think. There's some scrapes and schmutz on the 2000 and monitor that we couldn't remove, but I will take it off in post-production.
We shot a bunch, and will do another shoot like this in a month or so.
Check it out! Just a sample....

Short clip of some B-Roll film that might make it into the final production...

Medhi Ali didn't retire after Commodore. Someone came across Stone Ridge Partners a number of years ago.

"His prior experience includes serving as the President of Commodore International, where he accomplished a major operational turnaround."

A "major operational turnaround"?!?!? Talk about spin-doctoring! OO

@Franko

This is encouraging Franko, I look forward to watching the film upon release. It takes balls to go out on your own... best of luck with the production company...

I don't see this mentioned about the other topic of this thread:

Petro's Autobiograhy website

Here's hoping that Amigakit or someone else gets Petro's book translated into English.

I can not find any reference to this elsewhere, so it may have been missed.

It's a bit of talk about the upcoming autobiography from an interview a few months ago.

Commodore Legends: Petro Tyschtschenko

Amiga Future reported an interview about the same time:

Petro Tyschtschenko's Site updated with an english page:

http://www.petros-memoiren-1982-bis-2001.de/Start.html

Looks like a possible delay in the release.

Nice,
I'm really looking forward to the English version of the book, if I remember the site said that there was
(or the possibility for) a English translation going to come soon after the original. but now I can't even find the English section of the site anymore..[quote]

We don't really have any "Amiga in the news" forum for media outside of our community, so I'll just drop these here for now:

Amiga 30th Anniversary Event

Judging by the dates here and what Zach said at VCF, I wouldn't be surprised if this is where the film gets unveiled.

Interesting capsulation with some links back to people/sites that you know

Fairly recent.

the VCF preview incase anyone missed it

This may muck up my plans for next year as I have been putting away a bit of money for a America holiday next year and to try and coincide it with Amiwest but now will have to see what gets announced for this event. This is if i can afford it by then.

Really looking forward to this! I have been admiring the work by 3D artist Paul Kitching for this film via the Viva Amiga Facebook page. In fact, I am using some of it for wallpapers on my screens.

I regret not kicking in some money for the kickstarter effort, but I will be buying the DVD for sure.
