@TheDaddy

If the project is a success and there are some money left after covering your costs, I suggest you split the money in three.
One part that you could save for financing future projects (who knows)
Second part for buying some beer to celebrate for yourself the successful project :)
And the third part you could donate to other amiga projects.

just my opinion
Good luck

@amyren

I definitely need some beer, I am working really hard right now, taking pictures and printing AROS, Amiga, NATAMI stickers....

I am also editing the photos to make them look as if they were taken in the kitchen and garage...

The light is awful, we haven't seen the sun for more than a week in the U.K.!
It's gloomy, dark and tipping it down with rain, not ideal for taking photos at all...argh!

Is anyone good with Photoshop? I am trying to turn an object (the case) from white to black to give an idea of what a black version would look like...

Checked the net but they just tell you how to change a colour...

@TheDaddy Thanks. The weather is erratic here in Ireland too at the moment i read it's gonna be quite rough in some parts of the UK. The a500 was my first miggy too.I have just recently taken it out of the wardrobe where it slumbered and am setting it up again.Your case looks nicely reminiscient of the old girl so kudos.Ive just recently joined up to the amiga forums and got back into the scene.Ive always loved the amiga though and could never part with my a500. I had a cd32 and an a1200 also once upon a time.
It's great to see various new projects like the x500/natami etc happening in the community too.

@wrathofkhan

My design has only a couple of things borrowed from the A500, mainly the dimensions, although I have managed to make it slightly thinner and shorter than the A500.

What I have done is a sort of jack of all trade design.

It can house a x86 mini-itx board as well as a SAM (mini-itx and flex, although you can only use one slot). I have added an expansion slot (low profile one) as on board graphics are usually rubbish and having the added bonus to expand is vital to me.

Anyway, I am completely exhausted, as I have been working all week end taking photos and making a short video of it.

I hope people will like it.

@TheDaddy

Why not just use a 3D printer and turn them out that way?

@persia

Could do but I find the finish and thickness of 3D printers not very good...either too thin and flimsy or not well finished.

Might explore that in my next project though...

@Karlos

Thanks Karlos...

My other thread, the one with the presentation got locked because of pollution...

I am updating the video (basically photoshopping...no actually using paint) to remove the "offensive" material.

This is what happens when you speak the truth...

Cheers.

I guess that explains why I couldn't see the video just now. I'm not really surprised about the CUSA butthurt over it. A touch of the green eyed monster, methinks :D

@TheDaddy

Why not rename this project to AmigaOne? AmigaOne X 500 PLUS for example. I am sure neither A-eon or Hyperion have anything against it. Maybe Karlos could recommend you to Hyperion company?

Imagine if your project was in same league with A-eon technology, Hyperion Entertainment, Eyetech ltd and many more

@thedaddy

Well as just about everyone has come to realise if it doesn't run AmigaOS it isn't an Amiga. Nonetheless, good luck with your project. BTW I love C=USA's response, there's you doing this as a past-time in your garage and there they are sticking their oar in.
