Nope - no chance. I can remember too well how they treated their Bochum employees... I don't feel any pity for such crooks!_________________ Ciao

While I agree with the second part of the quote, I always thought it was their refusal to advance the Amiga technology. Commodore preferred to invest in their (dead) x86-PC branch instead...
|
Actually their PC branch was doing pretty well and I think it was a mistake to close it._________________ http://www.warpdesign.fr/ |

they never earned just one buck with it. Instead they had to invest rare money in it (what was missing for amiga then). They closed the PC branch but it was too late. |

MeeGo/Maemo and Symbian were quite some options. MeeGo pretty advanced and why on earth should Symbian not be able to do all the modern things, too? My Symbian/S60 system is doing al the stuff I want (mails, web, navigation, games...), actually It is pretty capable. |
Symbian was great, I loved it on my E52, but it was getting a little clunky when it came to fancy graphical eye-candy and the touchscreen interface. MeeGo Harmattan on the other hand was basically finished and ready to go, and solved all the legacy problems. I have a Nokia N9 and I can safely say it is the most wonderful phone I have ever used, over and above iOS, many flavours of Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry etc. Styling-wise, design-wise, hardware-wise it's all excellent, consistent and well thought out, and the little bit I've done with the SDK was a pretty good experience too.
Killing off MeeGo was a massive shame, and I reckon it could have easily outsold Windows Phone for Nokia so far had they pushed it right. It'll be a sad day when I finally have to replace my N9, but when I do, it won't be with another Nokia._________________ RobTheNerd.com | InstallerGen | SMBMounter | Atoms-X |

Just giving you a tip for next phone. They are producing this Jolla phone by Jolla inc.. jolla.com
These are the people who left from Nokia, and since when Nokia decided to go Windows way, they decided there was no value on Meego, and Jolla got Meego for themselves, and have now produced this new phone based upon it.
Reminds me a lot about Gateway, Ainc. story. I just hope Jolla doesnt remind too much of Ainc. |

Yeah, I've been keeping an eye on their progress, will wait to see what it's like in the real world but it's looking like a good candidate for my next phone! Thanks _________________ RobTheNerd.com | InstallerGen | SMBMounter | Atoms-X |
