Does that look like an Amiga branded ashtray on the table?

Whatever. I wish all the best to AEon. But time is not on their side.
2 years and still no X on the market. How much more? another 2 years?

Says who? Is this a race?

Maybe even three or four so what?

Good things come to those who wait...and we are experienced in waiting.

Yeah, weirder and weirder... Probably next time when A-Eon announces some news (like: how much noise in decibels does the X1000 PSU fan make) C=USA will try to quickly counterbalance it by "popping up" a few dozens of them X64's in your local electronics store.

I have a frequently asked question for C=USA.

Why do you have a FAQ thread on a forum that has nothing to do with your product?

Yep, the wheels are definately in motion. Your facilities should be able to churn out around 10-20 models a day which should pay the wages, rent and electricity bill if you're lucky. Just as well you didn't really spend $30,000,000 on advertising.

@Darrin

We shall see when Leo releases the next video. My bet is the "customization" section at the new office is for low volume option orders while Tropical Assemblies is producing the high volume option lots. The facility in China should be online by the end of this Summer.

Oh, and the $30M advertisement budget is spread over 5 years. But you already knew that.

Tropical Assemblies? Facility in China?

I bet Amiga.org, Amigaworld.net and EAB are looking forward to their share of $6million a year.

Yes, we shall see...

I must have missed something. The only customizing I'm aware of are the options for the models shown on the company website.
Are you referring to something different?

In other words, you just made it up.

Thank you for clarifying that.

@all

Forgive me guys, Maybe its my bad memory, but as I recall all the X thing hype happened around Christmas 2009 yeah? Then by January 2010 a website was up etc. I remember the Prototype X1000 machine being demo'd at last year's VCF Show in the UK.

So - If my memory is correct, its not even 2 years yet since the announcement?

Cheers.

Mikey C

@Mikey_C

I don't understand the arguements about dating. You can spin this on any project differently if you use "initial date of concept" or "date of completion of the h/w" or "date of completion of the h/w running a particular OS".
For example Sam was 3 years from concept to actual release with OS4.x.
Heh. And then people can argue how the legal affairs affected that timetable and therefore those figures are not relevant.
Nuff said.

to sell it in large series without any marketing is
