Well. . . you told us to. So I did.
Unfortunately, I went to this thread: CUSA OS4 thread. I felt Like I was reading the now-locked thread here about "X".
It was nice to see an occasional attempt to "tone down" some of eXec's vitriol over there. But then again, a lot of it was mutual back-patting between eXec and others as they bashed OS4.

You would probably have a better experience with almost any other topic there.
Nevertheless, your report supports the notion that it's just a few people who get riled up over all this, regardless of which site you look at.

Well I have started read the OS4 topic and couldn't quite believe what I was reading. The postings from Exec are no surprise but some of the others from the moderates were an eye opener.
But I will follow the lead of number6 and let people read and judge for themselves. _________________ If your nose runs and your feet smell, you're upside down. |

Exec apart, I don't think it's s bad as Moo. But the ideas and opinions are a bit out of touch with reality to my mind.
I'll read some more threads before I make a defintive judgement though.

| wow, I am blown away by the ignorance in some of these posts.
there are some claims here that take the cake ....
a) Hyperion are greedy b) AmigaOS 4.x is trying to claim its the real AmigaOS & thats why its released for "classic" c) AmigaOne is a "retro" project. d) Hyperion is killing WorkBench.
Now this just comes over as sour grapes to me. especially since they refer to AmigaOS as WorkBench
oh well cue them saying the same thing about the Amiga branding of their X86 boxes.
(although I'm sure that the ppl in that thread are not, for the most part, representative of the CUSA community in general)

really is worth a look when you don't understand the whole picture as presented by a handful of posts on AW, a.org, etc. |
Hmm...hundreds of topics and thousands of replies on Commodore-amiga.org.
I'll make note that babelfish translated my post to read "find the thread about OS4.x in order to continue arguing".
My point was that C=USA supporters discuss a lot of things and you don't hear about any of the "other" topics on AW. Oh well...

Well I have had a more in depth read through now. To be honest, I hadn't learned anything new. The information there had already been presented here and on Amiga.org
Not to much of interest going on there either. That is only to be expected of a fledgling company and new website to boot. No doubt that will change when products arrive in customers hands and more users sign up to the forums.
I'll keep looking in on it as things progress, and see what happens. _________________ If your nose runs and your feet smell, you're upside down. |

Somehow I think you would be in a better position than I to determine whether the web site had any new readers.

Right, but you and I read more sources than most. I didn't post for your or my benefit. Heh.

Yeah, I did have a nose around there. I know it's not everyones cup of tea, but I like to see other interests apart from the obvious being discussed on the forums.
A bit of general interest doesn't do anyone any harm.
