Then, that is my fault for reporting only the news and not making a point along with that report.

There are many licensees and yet I don't see the others under the same scrutiny or under outright attack.
The principal difference between the other licensees and C=USA is erm..well..that C=USA has posted on a number of Amiga and Commodore related websites.

I can only conclude that the licensees that say nothing have chosen the more comfortable path for themselves.
Whereas C=USA seems to feel they need to state that the former attachments to either "Amiga" or "Commodore" are not particularly meaningful, the other licensees must feel that way too, but are backing that up by avoiding any presence on other websites.

Ergo, C=USA must be hanging around here for a purpose, else they would have taken the same track.
If you think my conclusion is wrong, feel free to correct me.

There are no other licensees.

In addition, I see that Asiarim (your licensor) is now Commodore Holdings Corporation.

Oh well...anyone following Commodore has become used to having to learn new names on a fairly regular basis.

http://www.commodorecorp.com/faq.html

Found a relatively new flow chart for both Commodore and Amiga.
It even includes iContain and Commodore Holdings Corporation.

Nice chart, would be nice to know who owned which companies and when.

There are four Amiga Inc just wondered who owned which ones and some dates would be nice too

I think the .pdf is a work in progress by @shoe.

He'll probably have to change it again before very long. heh.

I'm curious about this statement from the Guardian:

Quote:
Although the original Commodore Business Machines declared bankruptcy in 1994, the brand has passed through a number of hands in the subsequent years. It is now jointly shared by the creator of the new C64, Commodore USA, as well as Commodore Holdings and Commodore Gaming, which builds high-spec PCs.

Commodore Gaming

If they're not a licensee, and the Guardian says "shared", what is their actual status?

I'm just not convinced in some cheaply made PC wrapped in C64 clothing running Windows... what a horrible idea!

Browsing the Commodore Gaming website gives the impression that they now defunct. They certainly are not making PCs or custom cases anymore. I think the author of the Guardian article simply didn't check that the his information was up to date.

I have to agree. Fact checking is a thing of the past. Easier to just copy someone else's misinformation and say "confirmed". LOL
Many of the major news outlets failed to print the current status of C=OS as well, which is now delayed, according to Commodore-amiga.org.

@thread

It looks like someone revived:

http://www.commodorecorp.com/

It's mostly dead links with a mention of yet another name - "Commodore Technology Corperation"

That's the first time I've seen "Corporation" spelled that way. heh.

@Tomazkid

Please change the forum category for this thread as well.

All these links are now down, or temporary sites without a working link. Only the front page shows the banner at the top.

As expected!

I think Baron Munchausen's company is the "last Commodore standing." The name will die with his company.

We are close to an announcement now, I think!

Baron you are writing about belongs to the fairy tale world. Announcement I am talking about belong to real life and it will feel.

You think, therefore you exist.

For companies its more difficult. They have to produce something,
not only announce.

Most of Barons announcement and site models proven to be vapor ( Phoenix triple boot machine sold with paid Windows, AROS as main CUSA Amiga OS, Amiga modded case with A1200 look, A500 look, with Yoz Montana design, Story of completely new COS V aka Workbench, mega number of sales and now even CommodoreOS even launched has proven to be beta and download link is gone ...) as well as false representation as Commodore continuation (history pages) and OS (not mention its modded Mint it sais its inspired by Linux).

Basically its keeping attention on fake promises and lies,
while selling products on nostalgia and false representation.

Sad, sad lesson how NOT to handle business.
