Hello guys

I have found some free time and start drawing in Photoshop from scratch - my idea how my favorite program - PageStream - should be presented to the world.

I did this web site idea in a 4-5 hours of work so I am interested - what do you think about it and do you have suggestions.

I have sent Deron this preview work and I am expecting to see if he has some free time to implement better work into a great program that still is PageStream...

All comments are welcome.

@djnick

I think there's too much graphics in it. Remove the big screenshot in the middle-left of the page, and leave this part of the page text only. Will look cleaner.

This is really great! Finally a professional looking website of an Amiga product!\
The more graphics the better!

Keep up the good work!

Good and creative DJ Nick!
It could be a bit more simplified, some more work put to it,
but yes, most defenetly better looking then original web site!

We should praise one of the last pro packages on Amiga
commercially avail!

Spot on, not too many graphics at all for what I consider to be the front page. Only one niggle, the top right hand corner, the boing ball should be first I would have thought, followed by an apple rather than an X, and could do with a new representation of the Windows icon as well.

Looks very nice except for the "arrows" which is overlapped by an image.

@djnick

That's really nice work. I'd say the level of graphics is just right - they give it a really nice modern look and the important info still stands out.

The platform icons at the top-right are maybe a bit too small, but as you can see, I'm struggling to fault it really...

@fryguy

That's part of the design - they're sort of popping out of a slit in the paper. I like that idea.

@Trixie

Tnx for the suggestion. I believe the middle part would look good if it will be animated, showing several pages with short review what is possible with PageStream, and animation will go from left to right, classic effect as seen on many web sites from last year or two. WIth this middle banner it is needed to show all goodies with PageStream as a product and attract new buyers.

@djrikki

Yep, I converted all images into Object so it can be scalled up or down without loosing quality. It is just a idea. If Deron likes it, we can do whatever he like :)

They need to do something to that page that shows they are still alive, looking at the current website it looks as though they died around 2006. They should also add a "Not Dead Yet" row in their product comparison page, since two of the products are long dead and the third has gone through a slight name change and 5 full versions.

Why Amiga must be listed at the end always?

@Phantom

It's a miracle we have a pro-quality DTP package in 2010. How about you just be grateful for that?

This is well done, dogg. Be proud.

Did you build that all from scratch?

Of course I am, no doubt. I used to work with PageStream back in the past too.

Is the Amiga version still 68k, or there will be a 4.x version too?

@Phantom

On their site OS 4.x version is still listed as Beta, but on purchase, finalized version is promised.

Quote:
PageStream5.0 for AmigaPPC works on any PPC system that OS4 will run on. It also requires at least 60MB of hard drive space and 20mb of memory available to PageStream. Development is nearly complete and betas are available to all who purchase it before the final version is made available.

I'd like to see how Pagestream compares with the pros. How does it stack up against Indesign 7.0.3 or Quarkxpress 8.5? How about the open source Scribus 1.3.3.14?

The pictures on the website look like Classic Mac OS...
