I have an A1 G3 with Radeon 7500
Australia and Headshot no problems with picshow
Panorama2 however, was a different story. IBrowse ran into strife just at the last in loading. DSI ignore so IBrowse quit loading picture but I managed to get IBrowse to save it to disk. I failed to load it with PicShow, WarpView and multiview - multiview via dirOpus gave an async layout error and a DSI. Then I did load it with ImageFX which first complained about a unexpected EOF and corrupted data.
Tried the same thing with AWeb but got the whole pic this time inspite of a DSI error. ImageFX gave no complaints but other viewers mentioned behaved the same.
@Severin So how did you make this panoramic shot? I suspect I've found some evidence of joining centre right, but its rather better than some of my attempts. I did once have the use of a 35mm panoramic camera with a rotating turret, with an enlarger and a drum in my then darkroom to print and process any pic up to about 2 metres long.

That image locks me up as well. I used jhead to read the image data & got a 24889x1838 pixel size, about 45.7MP. It loaded fine into ImageFX & I got the same image size again, 24889x1838. That's one hell of a big picture! _________________ Hate tends to make you look stupid... |

I used a little program for the mac called panoramamaker 3 that came with my camera, iirc that picture is about 11 or 12 photos joined together.

No chance, it uses pattern recognition and automatically balances all the images to give the best results, there is no way any script could do that.
For example have a look at this Photo, it's made of 3 photos stitched together, the right hand side was in full sunlight, the left 2 were not even though all the pictures were taken within 10 seconds.

You have a µ-A1 and may therefore not suffer these lockups.
@all others
What soundcard do you use who 1. Get the lockups. 2. Don't get the lockups.
And I don't just mean that 24000 pixel wide photo (which I didn't even bothered with..). I mean with normal 8-10+Mpx pictures.

What tooltypes are you using with your PicShow? Here I have "SCALE DOWN" set so that they all fit onto the WB screen.
Is it possible that the different behaviour is caused by differing activity? _________________ cheers tony

I have them registered, so I will give them a try. I had them installed on update#4, but it looks like I never installed them on OS4final. _________________ Peter Swallow. A1XEG3-800 [IBM 750FX PowerPC], running OS4.1FE, using ac97 onboard sound.

I don't have any tooltypes showing at all,set or unset, but I am using PicShow v31.69 (20/6/2004). I don't know if that is the latest? Last edited by Swoop on 26-Sep-2007 at 01:23 PM.

That lake panorama is very impressive. I think I can figure out roughly where the joining occurs but if I had not been informed I would not have suspected.

No, the latest is 31.403 (18/02/2007). You can download it from their website (http://mitglied.lycos.de/thomasrapp/amiga/picshow31403.lha).

it's non a complete lookup because most (if not all) of the programs continue working, (f.e. samba, limpidclock etc.) it seems only mouse and keyboard are ignored but Ctrl-AA works
Paolo
P.S. here PicShow ver. 31.371 (07.01.2007) just tried ver. 31.403 same results

| I have PicShow set to its own, completely black, screen (no window borders or scrollers) and load the images unscaled.
My lockups are total. Audio goes into a tight loop creating a high pitch squeek sound, exactly as with 3D. Nothing except the button on the case responds.
And as I said, sometime also the screen switches off and goes into stand-by, as if PicShow/P96 wrote gfx data all over the gfx card and into some control registers shutting it down..? _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

| @Deniil715 Tool another look your panorama does definately lock up picshow. It dispalys fione in fxpaint and imagefx. Displays a top band of sky and a central band of total black and a lower band of grass in arteffect4. I created an image in Arteffect with nothing in it just blank of same dimensions as the panorama and pic show also locked up trying to display that. It locked up the whole system.

I get lockups very often, but only with TuneNet. AmigaAmp and Amplifer seem not to be affekted.

That's strange then.. panorama doesen't even load in multiview it takes about 3-4 minutes and then displays garbage.
I tried picshow after a warm reboot with the same result, furthermore I tried loading panorama02.jpg from the internal requester and dragging its icon on PicShows icon in Amidock.
