You know at school when you used to school fairs and to help fund raise you had the opportunity to throw a wet sponge at the teachers.

I donated only just a few months ago, but I'll gladly donate once again once I get paid I the end of the week. Unfortunately, I'm down to my last pennies at the moment! You may want to consider posting something like what Amiga.org has on their left hand side bar which tracks the level of required funds needed per month to break even. This may help people convey the sense of current state of urgency when there is one and help determine what they can really afford versus how badly they want AW.net to stay around.
As for the sponsors pulling out or not renewing, I guess its sign of the times perhaps? Sad if this is the case really. These last few months has really brought whatever wind the Amiga still had left in its sails down to a breeze, IMHO.
Here's hoping that things pick up really soon!

Plink, plink !
Just donated. How`s it going ?
Come on everyone , don`t force me to put it all in myself, or I`d have to insist on a change of name for the site...... Mmmmm now there`s an idea ....

| Thanks everyone, we almost have enough for a 6 month term (£380), however 12 months is discounted and so is better value.

... And while you're at it, stop pushing the refresh button all the time. No wonder there's 40-50 GB of traffic.

I realize that you put a lot of effort in it but that's not really an answer to my question.
Yes I will donate when the site is about to go offline. I can live with a slower Amigaworld. It's not that things are evolving that hard for the moment and when they do, sponsorship will be no problem I think.
Sell t-shirts or something, I sure would buy one , even when slightly overpriced to cover other costs. _________________ - Proud Member Of The Belgian Amigaclub Since 2003 -

I'm not going to ask what the heck "plushies" are.
However, I seem to recall the last time DD did the mousemats, once they were all sold, the amount made after taking out the cost of producing them wasn't a fantastic sum (barely breaking even). That was a shame too, as the mats were pretty decent, and the 3 I have are still good as new. _________________ Test sig (new) |

Here's a tenner from me! Would have donated more if it wasn't because holidays this year are eating up my cookie jar
( that used to contain waste amounts of mooooney ;) )
edit: perhaps a counter of donations would be a nice little feature? Like the one they have on amiga.org

Have you considered using adsense as a source of revenue for AW?

£3 from me.. I would donate more but I've jacked the day job in to go freelance full time, so am currently skint.
Although I made £800 this morning., but as is my experience with most clients it'll be 3 months before they pay me. But it's soooo satisfying. No boss to moan at me, and I'm gonna earn more than I did in one month at the council! Muhahahahahaha! Feeeels good

Yes! Adsense rocks. My Dad needs a new hall built, and through Adsense I'm gonna hopefully make £150 this month to go towards it. AW has waaaaay more visitors, so will attract way more revenue. I imagine Amigaworld could make £400 - £600 a month easy. All we'd need to do is click on the Ads.. |
