At this point it is wise to pause for a brief moment and check "story continuity." From a sheer "problem solving" standpoint I thought it would also be wise to review the entries in relation to the original "rules" set by @xeron in post #1 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once upon a time there was a man with an extremely large desire to try and fit his nose into the small hole of his CPU mount. He knew it would be tight but nevertheless he really wanted to overclock his nose. To succeed, he would first have it lubed up with arctic silver. Then he needed Some relief (legal - TOS states "up to three words") in the form of his wife's home made pancakes ,which he promptly received after waking up his wife and ordering her to make him some (error RTFM) . Suddenly, in walked (extra credit to xeron for adding the ".") his girlfriend who wasn't aware of the large, hovering vacuum-cleaner which was (error - "vacuum cleaner" is 2 words) looming over him like a big deal she made only last week. Then, an elephant walked into the backyard of his girlfriend's and wife's while trying to fiddle with the sources . list (legal - TOS states "up to three words") he then went into an extreme slow motion and then began fondling a small banana in his pocket doing the Banana-Dance...(hmm..we'll let the hyphenated word slip this time) How did this crazy thread evolve Suddenly, RoqueFort appeared clutching his swollen (error - RTFM) book about sex! , Purchasing it from Sherman Williams Paint. RoqueFort opened the blow-up doll too but it sprang a leak, sending very strange smells
How did this (violations of the thread TOS here - RTFM) thread get hijacked onto Roqueforts lovelife yet again! Arrrgghhh!!
The doorbell rang and Roquefort saw (Hmm..substitution of a graphic in attempt to get more than the three words allowed by the thread's TOS) Amazed by the Speakers-Quality, (error - RTFM) He turned on the DVD player Unfortunatly, he pressed the 115/230V selector and fried his sausage and chips to a cinder. . Sorry. That is 6 words, and yet another violation of this thread's TOS.

To date we have not counted punctuation. Perhaps @xeron (the creator of this thread's TOS), would like to clarify this.
Updated: Upon re-reading the thread's TOS, "up to three words" are permitted, which means your post was -indeed- legal. Please accept the apologies of The Bodie Historical Society. Post #80 in the thread has now been updated and corrected. (again)

If you're interested, this is how a different forums story turned out.
(edit: If you click straight to page 8 of that link, you can see the "story so far" without having to go through the thread). Last edited by xeron on 17-Jan-2006 at 05:39 PM.

Outstanding link! (I noticed you did not enforce the thread TOS over there)
Hmmm... I suppose my only real issue here is the massive amount of PMs I am receiving, referring to your "one" word story thread on AW. (you know, the -other- thread.) The bulk of the PMs claim that the "one" word story thread is the -only- true story thread. Can't we be open to story threads containing 1,2, or even 3 words? Can't we all just "get along"?

While I may have violated the story telling TOS, I believe my point was sufficiently valid to put that across _________________ Test sig (new) |
